Dr. Simpson had been a professional agriculturist for more than 40 years, with broad experience in agricultural research, teaching, administration and production at both national (Guyana) and regional (Caribbean) levels. His experience includes agricultural project planning, development and implementation, and development in relation to international agriculture and global trade in agricultural commodities.
Dr. Simpson is currently the Representative of the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute in Jamaica and the Natural Resources Management Specialist of the Institute responsible for its programs in soil management, water management and research and training on agricultural adaptation to climate variability and change. He represents the Institute on major activities and projects related to climate change and agriculture in the Caribbean.
He has also held positions at the National Agricultural Research Institute in Guyana, the Faculty of Agriculture at both University of Guyana and University of the West Indies, and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat.
